Estimating and Sizing Seminar – A Three (3) Day Workshop to Advance Your Estimation Planning Results
Overview
Your organization has established estimation techniques and practices which
it uses every day. These estimates are used to create schedules, allocate
resources and set expectations. If your results are consistent and projects
are delivered on-time, on-budget and with high quality, then you will have
little use of this workshop. If however, you struggle with quality, cost or
time (or some combination), then this workshop may give you an opportunity
to improve your effectiveness and results.

The Estimation and Sizing Workshop provides a facilitated training and coaching experience for individuals who are involved with the production and management of software project estimates. This is an opportunity to learn how to make the cultural and technique changes necessary to plan your estimates better, improve your results, and add economic value to the business. The seminar is a combination of lecture, exercises and discussion. The sessions will begin at a high level and then spin down into detail on specific topics with appropriate exercises.
DCG’s estimation, sizing and measurement program principles and best practices are based on the DCG Estimation Roadmap Process, CMMI Process Area – Measurement and Analysis (M&A) (www.sei.cmu.edu) and incorporate the Practical Systems and Software Measurement (PSM) basics (www.psmsc.com). In addition, DCG incorporates sizing principles as established by the International Function Point Users Group, DCG is an authorized SEI Transition Partner (www.sei.cmu.edu) and an industry contributor to IFPUG (www.ifpug.org).
About This Workshop and What Participants Will Learn
This 3-day Estimation and Sizing focused workshop will provide training and coaching using an interactive approach. We will help attendees to
