DCG Talks Lean at SEPG 2011 in Portland. Implementing Agile and Lean principles in ways that fit corporate cultures continues to challenge and frustrate software development groups, governance units and Project Management Offices (PMOs).

Agile 133 x 200Maximum ValueNo easy answers exist but DCG conversations with high performing organizations continue to reveal what works and what doesn't. For one of our client's CFO, becoming more flexible as an organization helped to increase their capabilities which led to growth without excessive cost. You can read how we helped at this link if you want to know more.

If you are in Portland, please come by the DCG booth, to talk about your concerns or send us an e-mail for a web conversation to get you started.

See you at SEPG 2011!

Agile Estimation Using Functional Metrics.
Estimation is a lightning rod for conflicts between agile and process driven methodologies. However, times are changing and agile is maturing. Part of the process of maturation is the incorporation of best practices from other methods and frameworks. In this presentation, Tom will explain how functional metrics allow you to incorporate additional process discipline into the estimation processes typically used by agile teams. Join Tom and review current approaches to agile estimation, learn an approach to incorporate functional metrics into agile estimation, and understand why process discipline in estimation is important to gauge improvement. This process can be used to estimate whole projects or specific components.  Visit www.qaiquest.org/boston for event information.
