Agile
is from Venus, PMOs from Mars
Thur, Aug 11, 2:30 - 3:30 pm EDT
Presented by Tom
Cagley who over the past few years has spent time with many
organizations that struggled with the role of PMOs in their
organization as they transitioned to agile. Agile
focuses on self organization rather than control functions. Tom's
experience suggests that combining the roles of
administration and control with coaching and leading creates
conflict because the goals of these roles are different.
There is a path to support both sets of goals and needs if
everyone can be flexible and no one is building empires. This
Webinar discusses that path. Register NOW.

Does
Fear motivate your organization more than the pursuit of
Value? As a leader in your organization is that important
to know?
Presented at
the Worldcom SERP Conference in July, 2011.
Harris
Hierarchy of Software Development Support Needs
Michael
Harris and Thomas M. Cagley, Jr. David Consulting Group, Malvern,
PA, USA
The
Harris Hierarchy of Software Development Needs is a new concept
that we believe adds value and should be included in
organizational tool sets to help managers to identify software
development teams with issues through the prism of a disciplined
framework.
The paper describes the authors' hypothesis that software
development organizations operate at different levels in a
hierarchy of needs modeled on the Maslow Hierarchy of needs. The
Harris Hierarchy of Software Development Needs has four levels
representing operating states of the software development
organization: Failure, Fear of Failure, Control and Value. The
paper describes how the new model can be applied to software
development organizations. It describes what an assessment might
look like for an example organization with an actual assessment
for a real organization. The authors suggest metrics for the
assessment. Finally, the paper suggests events that might cause a
positive or negative transition through the level of the model.

Hierarchy White Paper
